Hence, 2025 is going to see a lot of mix of styles and trends from two different cohorts!

Wedding Wear Trends for Indian Couples in 2025

Let us look at 40 wedding wear trends that will inspire you to create your own outfits for your 2025 wedding.

1. Red lehenga – Neutral Sherwani

This is a classic style that always stays in trend. However, in this outfit combination, color contrasting plays an important role. On the bride’s red lehenga, other than gold zari embroidery, we can see emerald tone thread work. Also with the cream toned sherwani, the groom has paired a greenish grey stole and turban

2. Bronze Lehenga & Formal Tuxedo

Metallic tones are trending! Thus, instead of a gold lehenga, this bride flaunts a bronze lehenga on her reception night. It has all-over metallic beads embroidery in silver tone. The groom wears a formal black tuxedo which again is a timeless classic look!

3. Orange Lehenga with Embellished Sherwani

While the orange lehenga skirt of the bride is pretty simple, the groom’s sherwani has all over thread work showcasing vivid imagery. The are floral motifs, alpana imagery and huge ornate polkis in grey and silver tones over ivory! The bride’s skirt has a broad ornate border and her blouse is all-over embellished. On the rest of the lehenga there are golden bootas

4. Neutral Magic

Both the bride and the groom are wearing neutral tones! While the groom flaunts a classic ivory toned sherwani, the bride wears a light blush pink lehenga. Though technically it’s  a pastel shade, the light color may count as a neutral tone. Her lehenga showcases contrasting thread embroidery in gold and bronze! Neutral tones will gain immense popularity in 2025 weddings!

5. Brocade Saree & Thread Work Sherwani

Woven zari work or brocade fabrics will be extremely popular in 2025. Traditional weaves like Banarasi & Kanjivaram will take over! The pink saree with Banarasi brocade work is a sight to behold! The border and the choli showcase zardozi embroidery! On the other hand, the groom wears a cream tone sherwani with all over floral embroidery in self tone. He pairs it with a traditional white cotton stole with a thin red border!

6. The Couple in Red & Gold

Such looks are absolutely timeless and always in trend. The bride wears a traditional lehenga in red and gold. Gold zari and sequin embroidery has been used to create intricate floral motifs. On the other hand, the groom wears a cream sherwani. But his turban and stole are red. The stole is thoroughly embroidered in gold zari with tiny floral bootas. This adds a strong element of red and gold to the otherwise neutral attire!

7. Contrast Coordination

Though this style has been there for a few years, in 2025, contrast coordination in bride and groom outfits is going to be a big thing. This is perhaps the most simplistic way of doing it. A traditional red and gold lehenga for the bride and an ivory sherwani for the groom! What can be more appropriate?

8. Pastel Paraphernalia

Both the bride and the groom are wearing outfits with the same type of embellishment but in different pastel tones. This creates a matching yet contrasting effect. While the groom’s sherwani is in a pastel grey tone, the bride’s lehenga is a pale pastel pink. Both the attires showcase crystal stone and metallic beads embroidery.

9. Meenakari Wedding Wear

This couple wears gorgeous wedding outfits that flaunt an unique design language. On ivory surfaces, the embellishment is arranged in colors like gold, red and green. This is strongly reminiscent of ‘meenakari on marble’ work that became popular in the times of the Mughals. There are peacocks, figurines, floral and tree motifs.

10. Red and Ivory

Another typical example of contrast paring! Both the groom’s sherwani and bride’s lehenga showcase vertically arranged motifs. While the red lehenga has gold zari and thread work, the ivory sherwani showcases jaal embroidery work and gold thread embroidery.

11. Snow & Cherry

While the bride wears a traditional red & gold lehenga, the groom is seen in pristine light pastel blue sherwani. Against the picturesque alpine background they look exotic! The sherwani has embossed floral motifs on it and the bride’s net dupatta reflects the pastel neutral tone of the sherwani

12. Co-ordinated Bliss

They are flaunting traditional wedding attires and the bride and groom have also co-ordinated their outfits. While the red of the bride’s lehenga reflects on the stole carried by the groom, the gold undertone of the groom’s sherwani can be seen on the gold zari embroidery on the bride’s lehenga

13. The Bride in Pink

The bride wears this gorgeous pink lehenga that can give your traditional red bridal looks tough competition! Thread work and zari embroidery covers the whole surface of the lehenga in majorly traditional motifs. The groom wears a simple cream toned sherwani with a red stole. The focus of this couple’s look is on the lehenga of the bride.

14. The Couple in White

The all-neutral look is very much in trend in 2025. Both the bride and groom wear exotic outfits in a cream tone. While the groom’s sherwani has embroidered lotuses and other floral motifs, the bride’s lehenga showcases honeycomb embroidery in gold threads with thread embroidery in multiple shades at the bottom part. The motifs like geometrical structures, trees, peacocks etc indicate a Mughal garden.

15. Evergreen Red & White

This combination will never go out of trend! The bride wears a traditional red and gold lehenga while the groom flaunts an off white sherwani. The rich maroon velvet stole of the groom takes the look to an all new level.

16. Ditch Red for Maroon

This is a variation of the red and white look! Instead of a red lehenga, the bride has chosen a maroon one with gold and silver zari embroidery and multi-color thread work. The groom’s velvet stole showcases a similar color. In 2025 winter weddings, maroon outfits in velvet will make a solid comeback.

17. Dream Like in White

Here is another couple in completely neutral outfits. Both the lehenga and the sherwani have golden thread work on them and there is no use of any other color. This not only emphasizes the neutrality of the outfits but also gives them a dreamy look!

18. Pastels on the Beach

Against the pale beach sand, these pastel shades look mesmerizing! The groom wears a simple sherwani kurta in cream tone with matte gold and silver embroidery. The bride’s lehenga is in a light pastel blue shade with floral detail thread work, all over, in other pastel shades. There is pearl embroidery as well.

19. Peach Paradise

Here’s another set of exotic couple outfits for 2024 weddings. The groom wears a peach tone satin kurta-trouser and he pairs a zari and sequin embroidered sherwani jacket with that. The sherwani jacket is heavily embellished! The bride, on the other hand, wears a gold toned sequined blouse with a lehenga skirt with exotic floral prints in shades of peach and orange. The border is heavy.

20. Dark Brown Lehenga with Neutral Sherwani

It’s a myth that only co-ordinated wedding outfits look good together! This couple flaunts outfits that don’t match a bit. The bride wears a velvet lehenga, in a brilliant brown shade which is so deep and dark that it adds depth to the whole outfit. The gold and bronze zari and zardozi embroidery aptly complements the base color. On the other hand, the groom wears an off white sherwani with dark red bottom wear and a dark maroon velvet stole.

21. Of White & Beige

It’s one of the more serene pairs of wedding outfits in this list! The color combination is just out of this world! The blend of off white and brownish beige along with subtle gold and silver embroidery looks so divine and dream-like!

22. Cool Contrasts

To look glamorous and mesmerizing in your wedding outfits, couples don’t necessarily have to wear matching outfits. Sometimes, outfits of two contrasting colors create a dramatic and striking effect. For example, this navy and gold sherwani of the groom along with the pink floral lehenga of the bride creates the same effect.

23. Quirky in Pastels

The bride’s outfit is quirky at its best! She wears a fit-and-flare or mermaid cut lehenga with chunky beads and stone design resembling actual fish scales. The lehenga is in a pale pastel mint shade. On the other hand, the groom’s sherwani is in a pale pastel pink tone. The “edgy” aspect of this lehenga makes it a trending choice for 2025 weddings.

24. Metallic Embroidery

This couple flaunts completely traditional outfits. Not only is the combination of a red bridal lehenga and white groom sherwani customary, the embellishment showcased here is extremely traditional. Gold metallic thread work has been used in Indian wedding outfits for centuries. It is usually used to cover large portions of the outfit in conventional floral motifs. Along with metallic thread work we can also see sequin embroidery.

25. Black & Red

Though the red and gold bridal lehenga is a common sight, a black groom sherwani is not. In most Indian cultures, black is also considered inauspicious for weddings. And this is what makes this outfit combination apt for 2025 weddings. It is the year of breaking stereotypes and choosing options that are more sustainable and wearable.

26. Neutral Pastels

The year 2025 is ushering in a trend of pastel shades that create neutral looks! These pastels are very very light and on such a surface vivid imagery is created through embellishments. The bride wears a light pastel grey lehenga with a pink undertone and the groom is wearing a pastel peach sherwani. Both outfits showcase floral and geometric motifs using zari and sequin embroidery, crystal work, thread work etc.

27. Pastels with Red

The bride wears a red lehenga with vivid floral embroidery in pastel blue shade. This creates an exotic contrast. Also, the groom wears a pastel blush sherwani. Here too, a contrast is being created.

28. The Golden Lehenga

While the groom wears a self color thread worked ivory sherwani, the bride flaunts a mesmerizing golden velvet lehenga. While the base color is a dark rich wine tone, there is so much golden embellishment that it would not be wrong to call it a golden lehenga!

29. Chikankari Lehenga & Sherwani

Chikankari outfits are not only in sync with the 2025 concept of sustainability, they also uphold the heritage and culture of our country! The base color of both the outfits is the lightest tone of beige. On this, the white chikankari thread work looks even more vivid and meticulous. While the lehenga has all over work, the sherwani flaunts intricate embroidery running vertically along the button line.

30. Velvet Variations

In winter weddings, the use of rich velvets is possible! The fabric not only keeps the wearer warm, it also looks extremely luxurious! The bride wears a red and gold velvet lehenga in contrast with the groom’s white sherwani. To bring about some coordination, the groom carries a velvet stole.

31. Mustard Lehenga & Short Sherwani

Here is a unique bride and groom look for 2025! The bride wears a silk lehenga with mainly printed and woven motifs. Though there is the use of colors like green, red and gold, the lehenga is primarily in a golden mustard tone. The groom wears a short white sherwani with golden zari work. Interestingly, he pairs it with dhoti style pleated pants.

32. Traditional Zari Work

While the groom looks great in a traditional ivory sherwani, the bride flaunts a brilliantly red lehenga. Her lehenga showcases the exotic art of zari embroidery in gold. This is a long-lost Indian craft which can rarely be seen these days but in 2025 it is slated to make a comeback.

33. The Ethnic Tuxedo

Such a bride and groom look is perfect for a 2025 reception party. While the bride flaunts an exceptionally pretty gold and red lehenga, the real eye-catcher is the groom’s tuxedo. It is embellished at the lapels and also has ethnic thread work in gold at the bottom part and on the sleeves.

34. Red & White

It’s a traditional color combination in a new avatar! While both the outfits of the groom and bride are in white with sequin embroidery and gold thread work, the dupatta of the bride’s lehenga and stole of the groom’s sherwani are in a bright red tone.

35. Floral Fiesta

The couple flaunts a floral boho look. The bride’s lehenga is exceptionally quirky with the use of different fabrics. There is pleated net, dazzling gold satin, floral prints, hot pink flashes etc. The groom wears a mint green kurta and trouser with a jacket that echoes the design structure of the bride’s lehenga

36. Colors on Red

While the groom wears a straightforward cream color wedding sherwani, the bride’s red lehenga is not that conventional. Though there is the customary gold zari work, we can see thread work in different colors like pastel blue, green, mustard etc.

37. Yellow Lehenga & Black Sherwani

It’s the year of unconventional outfit combinations! The bright yellow and silver lehenga of the bride is unseen. It is not only gorgeous but also has a very casual appeal. On the other hand, the groom’s outfit is much more formal with embroidered short sherwani jacket in black, gold trousers and a matching shawl!

38. Self Tone Embroidery

This is another variation of the ivory sherwani and red lehenga outfit combination. Instead of gold embellishment, in this case, red floral thread work has been used in the red fabric of the lehenga.

39. Pastels in Paradise

The bride flaunts a gorgeous pastel mint green lehenga with extravagant silver zari, sequin and stone embroidery. On the other hand, the groom wears a cream toned sherwani with self tone embroidery and mirror work using mint green threads.

40. Traditional Matters

We end with a timeless look, which will be in fashion not only in 2025 but every year. The red and gold lehenga of the bride and the off white kurta and jacket of the groom are so traditional that they speak for themselves.
